Google Adsense Program Policies

In creating a site, you need to pay attention the Google Adsense policies. Of particular interest are the prohibitions against certain types of sites, including those with:

# Excessive profanity
# Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization
# Hacking/cracking content
# Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
# Pornography, adult, or mature content
# Gambling or casino-related content
# Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others
# Excessive advertising
# Pop-ups, pop-unders or exit windows that interfere with site navigation, obscure Google ads, change user preferences, or are for downloads. Other types of pop-ups, pop-unders, or exit windows may be allowed, provided that they do not exceed a combined total of 5 per user session
# Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
# Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site’s search engine ranking, e.g., your site’s PageRank
# Incentives (monetary or point-based) to users to click on links or ads while visiting a site containing Ads
# Sales or promotion of certain weapons, such as firearms, ammunition, balisongs, butterfly knives, and brass knuckles
# Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol
# Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products
# Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

Overture Bids Tools

To find out what various advertisers are paying for clicks for different key words, try the Overture Bid Tool. You can type in key words, and Overture will tell you what the current bid is.

Of course, this tool only gives you the pricing for Overture, but it’s probably save to assume that prices are similar on other programs such as Google Adsense.

What Kind of Site Does It Take To Make Cash On The Web?

What kind of site does it take to make cash on the web?

There’s a good discussion on just this topic here at Webmaster World.

The advice varies—from creating a site based purely on income potential, to creating one on a topic you like (my recommendation), but overall the theme is the same: content, content, content

Read the discussion. You’ll get inspired.
