Getting Started With Commission Junction
Commission Junction operates on a pay-as-they-buy model. Everytime someone follows one of their advertisements to a retailer and buys a product, you get a percentage of the sale. The amount that you get depends upon the deal offered by the advertiser.
This post assumes that you have taken my advice and gotten started using the WordPress software. If not, just adapt this advice to your own system.
Putting Commission Junction ads on your site is extremely easy. After you are accepted, you go to the Commission Junction site and log in. You click on the “Get Links” tab. There, you can search for products that relate to your topic. When you find one, sign up to join that advertiser’s program. Some will accept you automatically; others will manually review your site to see if it is appropriate.
Once you have been accepted by the advertiser, find the product again. You will be given the opportunity to choose from a variety of different link types, including text and graphical ads. Get the HTML code for the type of ad you want. Copy it using CONTROL-C.
Then, go to your site and create a new page in WordPress. Use CONTROL-V to insert the code into your post like any other text.
Next, write some material about the product. Tell how its useful, and why someone intested in your topic should have one.
Now, whenever anyone clicks on the ad, and buys the product, you will get a percentage of the sales.
